Arena League Round 2

The Pink Army was in action in Luton again on Saturday night for Round 2 of Arena League. This time we faced Chelsea and Westminster, Brompton, Bishops Stortford, CoStA, Colchester, Camden B and Enfield. There was some really fast swimming and as expected, Chelsea led the way throughout.

The team battled hard and at the end of the night when the points were announced, we finished in 4th place. Chelsea were 1st followed by Brompton in 2nd and Bishops Stortford in 3rd. Hatfield were a mere 2 points behind proving how close it was and that every point counts in this competition.

There were some real positives on the night with some swimmers making marked improvements in skills from round one leading to big drops in time and higher placings. It was fantastic to see everyone pull together with many of our swimmers taking on events that wouldn’t be considered their favoured ones as we needed them to step up and do what was best for the team. There were quite a few instances of swimmers swimming up an age group to help with relays as well. We also had great team spirit with lots of cheering on both the poolside and from the gallery. Our mascot was definitely the best there!

Well done to everyone involved. We look forward to the final round in December.
