Development Squads time trials results – Sunday 24th January

  • January 28, 2016

The first weekend of Development Squads training and time trials was a great success (please see links below for the results). It was a good opportunity for these less experienced swimmers to train in the University’s 25m pool and practice starts off the blocks there. The second half of the session was used for time trials, the kids swimming 50m of each stroke under race conditions. For many of them, it was the first time being marshalled into heats before coming under starters orders. There was some very exciting racing, fantastic turns and fast finishes with lots of PB’s to go round! Everyone seemed to enjoy the night and hopefully will back next week for some 25m sprints.

Just a little reminder from the coaches, please bring an extra towel and t-shirt to keep warm between races. Also, the swimmers shouldn’t need any food on poolside for these sessions and the lifeguards have requested that there is to be no eating. A big thank you to all the parents who helped to time keep as without this, the time trials wouldn’t be possible.
