Good Luck Louise!

The Commonwealth Games are taking place in Glasgow, Scotland this year. They run from Thursday, 23 August to Sunday, 2 September. The swimming and Para swimming events begin today, Friday, and continue until Wednesday.

Hatfield are very proud to have one of their own selected to represent Team England again in this Commonwealth Games. Huge congratulations to Louise Fiddes on her call up to the team. This will be Louise’s second Commonwealth Games and she is excited to be part of Team England once again.

Louise headed off to a holding camp last week and has been training with the team ever since. They arrived in Glasgow on the 21st to settle in and prepare for the competition. Coached by our Head Coach and Director of Swimming, Dan Fogg, Louise is now competing in the same city as he did when he represented Team England in the Commonwealth Games in 2010. It was there that Dan won a bronze medal in the 1500m free.

Louise will be competing in the 200m freestyle on Saturday morning. We all wish her the best of luck and look forward to following her progress. To watch the Games you will need to have access to HBO Max or TNT Sports. There will be highlights shown on Channel 5 in the evening. Let’s go Louise!
