Hatfield Swimmers at BUCS

  • November 12, 2025

This weekend is the British Universities and Colleges Sport Swimming Competition. The Short Course Championships sees over 1,000 athletes from 80 institutions descend on Sheffield for 3 days of competitive racing.  It is a very competitive and fast meet with British and international swimmers taking part. BUCS is a great opportunity for swimmers to continue to race as well as to socialise with many of their old friends and teammates from clubs they were part of before heading off to University. Hatfield are proud that this year, 17 of our current and away swimmers will be representing their Universities.

If you’d like to follow our swimmers, results can be found here https://www.bucs.org.uk/events-page/swimming-short-course-championships-2025-26.html?tab=Results

The 3 days of racing are comprised of morning heats with the men in one pool and women in the other. The 4 fastest heats of every event are swum in the early session with all remaining heats in the second session of the morning. Finals are contested in the early evening.
