Major League Round 2
Saturday night saw the Pink Army back in action at the pool in Hemel Hempstead for round two of Major League. This time our competition were Potter’s Bar, Tring, Verulam, Hemel and Hoddesdon. It was an exciting evening of racing with the team giving their best to win those all important points.
As usual, our supporters were out in force, cheering loudly and looking splendid in pink! The swimmers rose to the occasion and after finishing second in round one, this time they topped the table, winning the gala by over 70 points. The night was topped off by the always entertaining squadron relay which Hatfield came from behind to take a convincing win and leave the Pink Army supporters in a frenzied state of excitement.
Once the points had been added up, Hatfield totalled 263 with Verulam second with 192. Potters Bar were third with 191, then Hoddesdon with 160, Tring on 150 and Hemel with 65. So far, there are three teams with equal league points all sitting on 21. They are Hatfield, Watford and Verulam with Costa one point behind in forth. Due to Hatfield having the most gala points, we are currently sitting in first place.
Who will be crowned this years Major League champions? It will all come down to the final round on April 25 which will be interesting as it clashes with Regionals for the 15 and overs. The Pink Army will be ready to give it their best shot!
