Peanuts Round 2

Saturday night and the Pink Army were in Peanuts League action again. Our swimmers, coaches, parents, officials and team managers all travelled to Hitchin to compete in Round Two. We faced strong opposition with teams from Bishop Stortford, CoStA, Harpenden, Hertford and Verulam all vying for points.

There was a great team atmosphere with lots of new pink t-shirts on show in the gallery, temporary tattoos on display and loud cheering from all the swimmers and supporting parents. The swimmers raced hard all night and gave every swim their all.

Fast racing resulted in some close finishes and strong placings. The relays were exciting as usual and the swimmers did a great job avoiding disqualifications. That’s two rounds with zero DQs! At the end of the night, when all the points were counted, Hatfield were announced in second place just behind Bishop Stortford.

In just under three weeks, the team will be returning to action in the final. At the moment, CoStA A are leading with Bishop Stortford in second place and Hatfield even on league points but just behind, in third, on total gala points. With double points on offer for the final round, it’s all to play for and the Pink Army have their sights firmly set on a top 3 finish this year! Let’s Go Hatfield!
