Peanuts

May is the start of Peanuts League this year and round 1 was held on Saturday night. Peanuts are part of the Hertfordshire Swimming League and are aimed at the younger swimmers, aged 9-12. There are 3 rounds of competition and clubs compete against each other with the title to be determined in June. Peanuts allow the younger inexperienced swimmers to get an opportunity to compete at galas and experience team competitions and all that comes with them.

Hatfield compete in Division 1 against Potters Bar, CoStA, Rickmansworth, Bishops Stortford, Verulum, Watford, Harpenden, Hoddesdon, Stevenage and Hertford. Saturday night, the Pink Armey travelled to Hitchin for their round 1 competition. We were racing teams from Watford, Harpenden, Hoddesdon, Stevenage and Hertford.

Team spirit was high, cheering was loud, and pink flags were flying! Our young swimmers supported each other and swam their hearts out. For many it was their first time racing and they all did a fantastic job. At the end of the night, when all the points were added up, Hatfield came out on top!

Well done to all the swimmers, coaches, volunteers and supporters! Round 2 will be held on June 7 and we look forward to another fun and exciting evening of racing.
