Pink Army Prepare for a Busy Weekend

The first weekend of November will be a busy one for Hatfield’s swimmers and coaches. There are two competitions running over the weekend that the Pink Army will be attending. The first of those is the Herts Aquatics meet and the other is the Swim England East Region Short Course Championships.

The Hertfordshire Aquatics Meet will be held at Haberdasher Boys School and the Pink Army have 28 swimmers attending. The competition will be run over two days and consist of morning and afternoon sessions. Races include 50’s, 100’s and 200’s of each stroke plus 400m free and IM. There are also 100m and 200m IM races. This is a good opportunity for swimmers to try and qualify for Counties at the beginning of next year. The second meet that Hatfield swimmers will be attending is Winter Regionals in Luton. This is a tough meet to qualify for as times are for open age group only so are set quite fast. The Pink Army are sending a large contingent with 27 swimmers qualifying. We will also compete against the rest of the region in six relays. The distance events are being held on Friday evening with the rest of the program being split between two heats sessions on Saturday and Sunday. With only 8 places up for grabs in the finals, a strong morning swim will be essential for any chance of having a second swim in the finals session later on. Let’s go Pink Army!
