Wycombe End of Season Meet

The Pink Army travelled to Wycombe over the weekend of 19-20 July to compete in the Wycombe End of Season Meet. Swimmers from Hornet, Venom, Dragon, Mosquito, Vampire and Vampire+ were invited to enter as a final chance to race before the summer break. Coaches Dan T and Rushabh were in attendance to support the team along with a group of team managers and officials.

The competition was run over two days with three sessions each day. There was a full program of events from 50’s to 400’s with finals in the 50’s and 100’s for both 9-14 year olds and 15 and overs. Both days saw plenty of great swims and lots of PB’s. Medals were won by multiple swimmers and lots qualified for finals.

Finalists on day one were Josh Jeffrey (50m free), Ching Yau (100m breast), Olly Fenwick (100m breast), Mercy Adeoye (50m fly), Katie Jeffrey (100m free) and Imola Jozsa (100m free). Josh claimed a bronze medal along with a big PB and his sister, Katie, won silver.

Day two was another strong showing for Hatfield with more medals won and plenty more PB’s. Sundays finalists were Antonia Elias (100m fly) who won silver, Ching Yau (50m breast), Josh (50m breast) with another bronze, Imola (50m free), Katie (50m free) again winning silver, Mercy (100m breast), April Mills (100m breast), Olly (50m fly) taking bronze, Sam Jeffrey (50m fly), Tara Shah (50m back) winning a silver, April (50m back), Tara (100m back) this time with a bronze, Sophie Green (100m back) taking home a gold, April (100m back) and K-ets Yah-Khai (100m free).

A good time was had by all with team spirit shown in abundance. It was a great way to end the season. Well done to all the swimmers and a big thank you to all the parents, team managers, officials and coaches for getting everyone there and supporting!
